Whats an average price of Wedding Photography?

Getting married this summer and have a few appointments this weekend with some photographers, and was curious that everyone pays the average price for this stuff is. Thank you! just wanted to add, the photographer we really want is about $ 3000, but some people told me thats outrageous. Wasn't sure if thats the case or not. Also, living in Portland, OR area.
